I have eventually given in and decided that Social media has its place within the club for various reasons. I personally don’t use social media but I can see the value of this as a tool to get information out to all the parents without checking the website or me sending emails that sometimes end up in either junk mail or incorrect addresses. This won’t replace the website and in fact should complement it and what goes on the website should be also posted on Facebook so you know when there have been updates.
Mark Dickson is going to be looking after Academy face book page.
I am also pleased to tell you that Mark has agreed to come on board from the 2009s as Bonnyrigg Rose Academy Manager and assist me in implementing a system that is clear and transparent for all the teams to see. This will add some governance to the set up and help with the management and processes within the Academy.
I am sure you will all welcome his appointment and the effort that Mark puts in. Mark is currently with the 2009s so please have a look at the coaches page on the website HERE to see what Mark looks like and you can say hello next time you see him. I am sure you will be receiving mails and updates from Mark in the very near future.
Mark’s email is BRFAManager@gmail.com
The facebook group will cover all 3 year groups in the Academy from Year 1 introduction to football, to fun 4s and then to Super 5s. Please click HERE to request to become a group member.
With regards to the 2010s
Kev Hancock has set up a facebook page for the 2010s. Kev has already a number of years coaching within the club at 3 different age groups and has a good fundamental knowledge of how the club operates. He will be giving the 2010s updates as they move through the season. The 2010s coaches have a meeting next Tuesday. They would welcome any parents who would like to attend, maybe who want to get involved, volunteer, coach, fund raising, to run the brew-crew teas and coffees or even if you would like to act on the committee as parent representative. Please let me know if you are interested.
The facebook page for the 2010s is Bonnyrigg Rose FC 2010’s.
With regards to the 2011s
The 2011s are still in their infancy and will be taking in players soon to add to the squad numbers. We already have some coaches going on their coaches education courses in October in readiness for the new intake. We currently have some on the waiting list but need more coaches to cope with the demand to which we are currently addressing. So if you would to join us as a coach please get in touch with me.
There will be more information soon on the 2011s development and we will see an increase in players as soon as the 2010s have secured their evening training slot as this will then free up some room on the Poltonhall strip for the 2011s.
So all in all a lot going on at this point so keep your eye on the website for developments. Hopefully we will get the facebook running ASAP.
