There seems to be some confusion on the price increase and we still have some people paying in to the Academy accounts, these need to be changed urgently to the central fund.
The new amount is for £25 per month. This has been the first increase in 6 years that I have been running the Academy and it is simply down to cash flow.
Last year we actually made a loss for the first year. With the 50 intake and kits issued free of charge at £108 per kit it leaves very little meat on the bone and you only have to look at the 50 kids per year intake and the numbers just don’t add up.

And it goes on, we are still looking for a sponsor for the Academy to alleviate some of the burden but are still currently unsuccessful, does anyone know someone who would be interested ?
It is with the above in mind that we have had to cancel the lottery as from January from the fees given, this I can only apologies if this was not conveyed to you at that time, decision was based on the loss from last year, the increase in council fees 10% this year and 10% the middle last year.
We still have a great relationship with the Juniors and will continue to support the Juniors in the lotto so these can be purchased in the café on the Saturday morning where our girls do a great job, these are just non paid volunteers the same as the rest of the BRFC and thank them very much for the work that they put in on a Saturday morning making hot rolls and teas and coffee’s for parent’s, great work girls !!!
You will have heard on the Asset transfer as we are continuing with this process with the council so as to try and resolve some of the issues at Poltonhall and take over the pitch along with the pavilion. This is a time consuming and costly process as the council let the astros get into a irreparable situation and unless we try and raise funds to repair this then we wont see the continued development of the club in the near future.
So just to recap we need all money being paid to the Academy account move to the central fund account number 14822161, sort Code 80-22-60. New payment to be set up for the 1st off every month for £25.
lotto tickets can be purchased from the café, please keep them going it is essential that we support the juniors and the the club also get 50% of the takings returned to us. It is an essential source of income we desperately need.
