Mark Dickson here, the Academy Manager.
Just an update on the new proposals from Box Soccer. The Academy has agreed a 40 week agreement with the Box Soccer to ensure our players are reaching their potential in all 3 years of the Academy.
These are additional training sessions to your normal training and the cost for the first year will be absorbed by the Academy and no charges will be made to the parents for these additional sessions.
The Youngest Groups 2011-2012 will attend the Box soccer on the First Wednesday of every month, there will be 2 sessions for approximately 25 players in each session, the sessions will be run from 6pm till 6.45pm and from 6.45 till 7.30pm every first Wednesday of the month.
The 2010s Groups will attend the Box soccer on the 3rd Wednesday of every month, there will be 2 sessions for approximately 25 players in each session, Kev’s Group and then Marks Group. the sessions will be run from 6pm till 6.45pm and from 6.45 till 7.30pm every third Wednesday of the month.
The sessions for the 2nd and 4th Wednesday will be used by the 2009s groups, as the players are developing to play 7s next season they will benefit from 2 sessions per month, there will be 2 sessions for approximately 25 players in each session, these will be allocated in the next week or so and will be announced when agreed. The sessions will be run from 6pm till 6.45pm and from 6.45 till 7.30pm on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month.
All Box Soccer will take place at Poltonhall Astro Strip and we would ask all parents and players to ensure you are there in a timely manner to allow the coaches to prepare and deliver the session on time, with the rotation of a second session right at the back of the first we have only 5 mins to get the player out.
This deal has been a while in the making and ensuring that we had the players development is at the forefront of the Academy agenda. Dave Kelly Academy Director commented “With this partnership this will see our players excel in the technical skills field, Box will provide a platform for our players to realise their full potential and become a more rounded and creative player”
